I have visited this place three time, and after the sometimes ott decoration of many Italian churches, including the Basilica above, it is incredibly peaceful space to come and just be, and to reflect on what this extraordinary young man taught, how he changed the world of his day, through an uncompromisingly simple lifestyle, and what he continues to say to today's materialistic world. It seems to me, so important to hear the words of Francis' prayer in our increasingly polarised world: "Make me a channel of your peace, Where there is hatred , let me bring your love, where is injury, your pardon, Lord, and where there's doubt, true faith (but not the Trump variety) in you"
