Iris in colour

This should work but doesn't. It has all the potential for a very good image but is quite wrong. I like the close crop and the strong shape of the flower but free thinking goes only so far when you lose sight of the whole picture. Look..then think...you could make it so much better. The background spoils the shape and colour of the flower. What's more important?
