Thank you all for your comments, that was my first painting with a new pochade box, made by a fellow called Ben White, shipped from Montana, as a few of you have noticed it's very well thought out. I'm unsure of links allowed here but he's easily searchable and has a variety of boxes for different applications all made to order, this one is called the 'Blackfoot' has room in the lid for two 8x10 inch panels. The spring loaded clamp will extend to hold 12 inch deep canvas when it's opened as photographed..
