Thank you for registering for our live Painters Online webinar with Robert Dutton.

Ahead of the live session on Tuesday 17 October, you can access Robert's suggested materials list and reference photograph.

Suggested materials

  • 300gsm (140lb) Canson Heritage cold pressed watercolour paper (recommended size half imperial (21 x 15 inches))
  • Your own favourite watercolour brushes, the larger the better - highly recommend large Chinese brushes, Ron Hanson Hake (large), Pro Arte One Stroke 2 inch flat, mops etc. Not obligatory, just use what you have
  • Several Jam jars (or similar) for clean water mixing
  • Spritzer with clean water
  • Charcoal - highly recommend Nitram charcoal soft charcoal sticks
  • Grey and black ranges of soft pastels - highly recommend Rembrandt harder white, black and grey pastels and the same range with Unison Colour softer pastels
  • Drawing board to fit the paper you use
  • Tape or bulldog clips to secure your paper to a drawing board

Note: Don’t forget to set your easel in an upright position - not flat!

Webinar information

  • The webinar will take place on Zoom and will last for approximately 1 hour including a Q&A session (these are approximate timings and may vary slightly).
  • During the webinar, you'll have the opportunity to submit your questions and chat with fellow attendees using the Q&A and 'chat' buttons at the bottom of your screen. 
  • The webinar will be recorded and will be made available to all registered attendees the day after the live session, for a one month following the live webinar.
