Hi All. I am back at my desk now and have started to chase this issue again. There are a few changes to certain parts of the site in development but I don't think these would be causing the issues. Hopefully this will soon be resolved though. Dawn
Thanks Dawn god to have you in the driving seat .
Glad you’re back Dawn. I just uploaded an item to the gallery and my iPad showed this I checked on my iPhone and the item had loaded but this was still showing on iPad. I have had this before. Do others get this?

I always get this but don’t worry, the posting has always gone through - that’s the important thing.
Today the Gallery has been fast, the Forum a little more considered but better than recently.
Not faster at all I'm afraid, Forum comments take ages to load and endless whirring on gallery posts.   Some load up OK and others most definitely not which has been the case for some time now.  Have tried on other devices and no different.  My internet connection is top notch and other websites no problem so am afraid there's something very wrong with POL.  So pleased you're back Dawn (hope all is well) - can you let us know what is happening please as son as you're able, thanks.
That's interesting, the shot of Tessa's with the cloudflare box, I had never seen before...until last night.  I wanted to look at a Monet on wikiart . org and I got the same error boxes ( but obviously wikiart in the right hand one) It would suggest that there is a blockage between cloudflare and the host sites?

There has been a discernible improvement in speed in my experience over the last couple of days, but it's erratic, irregular - and Cloudflare is a very odd piece of software (coincidentally, I'm watching the Post Office Inquiry into Horizon - which doesn't greatly improve one's faith in computer software).  Cloudflare does seem to be ONE of the reasons, together with adverts loading,  for the website responding at times like a ballet dancer in clogs. Uploading a piece of work to the Gallery, for example, is a much clunkier process than it used to be, not helped by Cloudflare being misleading; in that, while it keeps you hanging on for minutes on end while it says it's establishing contact with the site, in fact the piece HAS been uploaded: opening another tab - that is, coming back into the site and ignoring Cloudflare - shows it to have uploaded even while Cloudflare, on the original tab, is still chuntering away to itself, like an old car trying to make progress up a steep hill.... Whether adding software to the site in order to combat spam on the Gallery - although I see that's still happening - may have added a degree of burden which slows the whole thing down - is beyond me, because  I'm not a computer engineer - but I do have experience of installing software which I later regretted, since it just clogged my system and reduced its speed.  The adverts are a necessary feature on a free-to-use site; but I do wonder how useful these added bits of software are, and if Cloudflare in particular is either flawed, or maybe not ideal for this site.

Of course, you realize I have NO idea what I'm talking about....
Yes……ha ha…..I don’t have much idea either……leave it to the site techies, I’m sure they know what they’re doing.
Well, they'll SAY that....
Oh come on! Give them a break!😁
